Broad-based Black Economic Empowerment
Aucor was started as a family business which still has a remarkable influence on the culture of the company. The family and the founder members proffer a progressive attitude and loyalty to the democratic South Africa. In keeping with this, we believe firmly in the country and constantly explore opportunities to contribute toward the economic prosperity and empowerment of the less advantaged people.
Aucor has embarked on a comprehensive broad-based black economic empowerment (BBBEE) strategy that permeates all aspects of the business.
The Aucor empowerment strategy aims to achieve:
Appropriate broad-based empowerment ownership of the business.
A meaningful level of black influence and control in the Board of Directors.
Appoint at a strategic level the services of skilled black executives.
An employee compliment that reflects the demographics of our country.
Preferential procurement policies that encourage both BBBEE and SMME principles.
Skills transfers, alliances and technical support to aspirant black auctioneers.
Enterprise and social development programmes aimed at accelerating the development, empowerment, and access to the economy for previously disadvantaged individuals.
Aucor’s commitment to BEE and transformation in general is evident from the latest independent evaluation. In the evaluation using the Generic Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Scorecard, Aucor achieved “Contribution: Level Five”.
We remain committed to further transform and build capacity, to participate in a meaningful way in the auction industry and add our part in the economic prosperity of South Africa.
